Sorry, this is a bit of a ramble since Alabama's stay at dwelling order is in effect. I'll be back to edit sometime. How's everyone else handling information technology?

I've had this book for quite some time. my hubby took the same class that I did with but a dissimilar instructor a few summers ago. I had the opportunity to be able to read this book for quite a while. The authors insights on the writing and the process of writing was very useful information for me. Some of the insights on verse I did not hold with as in that location were a lot of topics that mostly centered around the ceremonious rights and how the volume really highlighted racism in many aspects. I feel that information technology was goading today's collective into a more aroused way of thinking in the Harlem Renaissance section.
Information technology is besides of import to annotation that this volume is k+ pages and a college student cannot be expected to read this within the matter of four months this simply is impossible for even ane of the fastest readers. This took me a matter of almost two years to read and the professors that teach this material have to cerise choice what they teach or what they are instructed past the higher ups to teach. This is a flaw in the system I don't agree with information technology and call back that at that place should be some sort of measures to exist able to fix this.
The volume itself is not flawed in sections almost writing essays; however, I really would similar updated material about the computer input. The material that is chosen out of the books we written report from potentially shapes the communities future and then professors should break the course upward into two courses for this.
I liked some of the short curt stories.

In EH102 for the fall spring 2020 I had to read the story of an 60 minutes, The flowers. A good man is hard to find past Flannery O'Conner. Robert frost and some selected poesy. Zora Thurston who wrote"Spunk" i'1000 going to include the papers that I wrote for this detail class when I edit with my pc. the start which was kind of silly a persuasive essay nearly reading how to railroad train your Dragon series second newspaper was near how today's civilisation has deteriorated and no longer centers effectually the family and the 3rd was a poesy comparison which I chose Edgar Allan Poe's the Hana Palace and schizophrenia by Jim Stevens and Robert frost stopping by Wood on a snowy evening. Can you lot guess what the theme of my paper was?

That's all for now. Stay sane pretties.
Love,
Shizuku

Good selection of short stories, poesy, and drama/plays. Some of the info/descriptions does appear biased (the divergence between "literature" and "formula fiction"). MID-TERM BREAK BY SEAMUS HEANEY

This is a poem that has stuck in my listen from an anthology of poetry called 'Songs of Ourselves' that my brother studied. It is a child-similar recount from a boy away at school who is fetched and taken abode for the funeral of his younger brother. The linguistic communication is rich and descriptive and includes the grief and tears of his parents, the uncomfortable awkwardness of neighbours, the defoliation and the sympathy. MID-TERM BREAK BY SEAMUS HEANEY

This is a verse form that has stuck in my mind from an album of poesy called 'Songs of Ourselves' that my brother studied. Information technology is a child-like recount from a male child abroad at school who is fetched and taken habitation for the funeral of his younger blood brother. The language is rich and descriptive and includes the grief and tears of his parents, the uncomfortable awkwardness of neighbours, the confusion and the sympathy. I like the symbolism of the 'snowdrops and candles' to portray the fragility and temporary nature of life. The description of the "poppy bruise" on his brothers temple where he had been hit by the motorcar and his coffin, "a four foot box, a foot for every year" are memorable and poignant and reflecting premature decease.

This is a bang-up anthology for college students. It contains the typical canon pieces by Hawthorne, Dickens, Melville, etc., but information technology also has some wonderful surprises, both old and new.

The poetry section is a cracking survey, with whole capacity dedicated to poets such every bit Dickinson, Frost, Cummings, and Hughes.

Drama contains a play by Sophocles, Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, and Henrik Ibsen, as well as "Fences" by Wilson.

I've enjoyed reading and closely examening all of these texts.

This was a required text for the English introduction courses I took in college and information technology is one of select few that I've held on to and ofttimes referred to since. Other than being a thorough and well-organized reference book, "The Bedford" is a treasure trouve of short stories and verse worth reading. The text also includes tons of references for authors or readings to check out. A vast selection of English literature and poetry. Besides bad I dislike well-nigh of that area of reading. Most of the short stories I plant irksome at best and at worst struggled to become through. The poetry section was especially awful. Non recommended unless you are forced to read it for a form y'all are taking

This was the volume for my Introduction to Literature Course at Bakersfield College.
It was an intense read equally information technology has many examples for each of the sections it's divided into (Fiction, Poetry, Drama).
I don't have any specific complaints...Information technology holds many excellent excerpts, curt stories, poems, and plays. It also does a pretty decent job of defining things.
It'due south just A LOT to have in.

Kickoff off, I didn't read the whole affair. My English language teacher took out various excerpts from the book, and had our class read it. I am not big fan of brusque stories (they all seem to end surprisingly dreadful) but I really bask the way the text book is written.
